Adopt-a-Student Scholarship Program
“This scholarship means so much to me. Through your ministry I have been able to share the blessings with other students who are also in need, and encourage them in the Lord. By God’s grace I will be able to finish my studies. I will strive to do well and excel in my academics and my ministry through your prayers. Thank you again for your generous support. You have changed my life!” Two years ago a recipient of Adopt-a-Student Program wrote this. She is now an alumna of two years, happily serving the Lord, and encouraging young people to take a step of faith for training for the ministry.
A partner in the ministry of FEBIAS may adopt a particular student towards the completion of a course of study or join other partners in sponsoring needy but deserving students. The adoptive parent may be:
1. an individual who adopts one or more students to support.
2. a group of like-minded individuals who adopts more students by pooling their resources together.
3. a local church who sends member-students through their normal budget allocation procedures.
4. a local mission organization, NGO, and the like, who adopts and support students.
Adopt-a-Student is relationship-based. The adoptive parents are encouraged to get to know their adoptive students, encourage them with notes, visits or even gifts. Both adoptive student and adoptive parents are encouraged to pray for one another throughout the training period at FEBIAS, and even beyond graduation. This relationship builds the value of gratefulness in the adoptive student, and the spirit of supportive encouragement on the part of the adoptive parent.
Adopt-a-Student is transparent. All donations are acknowledged and receipted promptly. All donations are credited to the student’s FEBIAS account and are designated for tuition and other fees.
Adopt-a-Student is strategic. This support plan envisions outcomes that are both for the adoptive student’s personal development and the fulfillment of the adoptive parent’s vision. The objective is to encourage the students–through financial aid, emotional and prayer support–to finish their courses and move on to serve God according to His calling. The plan also gives the adoptive parents a concrete opportunity to be active participants in the process of molding future servant-leaders.
Adopt-a-student recipients are pre-qualified based on their academic performance and potential, as well as their financial challenges. A Scholarship Committee may send name(s) of candidates according to the adoptive parents’ preferences. Following are FEBIAS Course offerings:
