About Us
Early years
On September 21, 1945, a group of American servicemen met in the Christian Service Center in Manila for a prayer meeting. In this very meeting, the vision to put up an interdenominational Bible school was deeply felt. Chaplain Russell G. Honeywell and Mr. Carl Urspringer then spearheaded the work.
On July 5, 1948, the school, then called Far Eastern Bible Institute and Seminary (FEBIAS), opened with 20 students.
Twenty years later, on December 3, 1968, the Board of Trustees voted to change the school’s name to FEBIAS College of Bible. The following year, it became a Filipino corporation and began to operate under the permit of the Bureau of Private Schools, now the Commission on Higher Education.
In July 1971, government recognition was granted to the four-year Bachelor of Arts program. Majors in Bible and Theology, Pastoral Work, Missions, Christian Education, and Church Music were the thrusts of the program.
In May 1972, Far Eastern Gospel Crusade (now SEND International) turned over the management of the college to the nationals. Dr. Gadiel Isidro, a 1954 alumnus, served as the first Filipino President (1972–1975).
FEBIAS today
By God’s grace, FEBIAS College of Bible continues to maintain its high academic standards and holistic training for future pastors, missionaries, Christian educators, music ministers, and leaders from the time it was founded.
It still seeks to fulfill its commitment to ministry through college and graduate education and professional development, as well as provide direction and facilities for theological, technical, and practical research.
At the heart of it all, FEBIAS exists for these two things: to glorify God and to equip His servants to build up the body of Christ.
Equipping leaders
fulfilling the great commission
Vision
A school that produces godly leaders for the country and other parts of the world: spiritual leaders who accurately handle the Word of truth, Christlike in character, relevant and responsive to the needs of the time in fulfilling the Great Commission.
Mission
The school aims to provide opportunities for excellent training and development of men and women of God, Christian leaders who will excel and have the spiritual cutting edge in various areas of ministry such as pastorate, missions and evangelism, Bible teaching, Christian Education, and Church Music.
The school will develop a training program where learning takes place in both academic endeavors and applied experiences where the classroom extends to the field and the curriculum responsive to contemporary realities.
Under the authority of the Scripture, the school seeks to fulfill its commitment to ministry through college and graduate education, professional development and provide direction and facilities for theological, technical and practical research. Thus, equipping God’s servants to do the work of the ministry for the building up of the body of Christ.
